Woods Staton is a businessman who eventually became the Executive Chairman of Arcos Dorados, the world's largest McDonald's franchisee. Arcos Dorados is a business that employs more than 95,000 people across 20 countries in the Caribbean and Latin America. The company operates more than 2000 restaurants and has revenues of more than $4 billion. Woods Staton was born in Medellín, Colombia. His business life has always been involved with consumer goods in Latin America. His grandfather was the founder of Panamco, a business that eventually became one of Coca-Cola's largest bottlers in the world with operations in seven Latin American countries. After working on the family business for years, Woods eventually branched out and started his own entrepreneurial career as a joint venture partner of McDonald's and opened the first McDonalds' restaurant in Argentina.

He eventually became the President of McDonald's Corporation's South America Division. In 2007, the Corporation sold its operations in Latin America to investors that Woods put together. They eventually named the company Arcos Dorados. The Private Equity investors sold their positions on the NYSE's successful IPO. Mr. Staton became the Chairman of the Board of Latin America's McDonald'a House of Charities that is dedicated to supporting the families of children who are fighting pediatric cancer. He also became the co-founder of Endeavor Argentina that promotes entrepreneurship. Aside from that, he also became the founding partner of the global organization Ashoka Argentina which is committed to investing in innovative solutions through social entrepreneurship that could eventually help solve the tough problems.

Mr. Staton graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Emory University in Atlanta and an MBA from the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland. He became a member of the Global Board of Advisors of the Council of Foreign Relations in Washington D.C. as well as the Chairman's International Advisory Council of the Americas Society or Council of the Americas. He also serves on the International Advisory Board of Itau Unibanco Holding S.A. and is the Latin American Program's Advisory Board's Chair at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.
